A Real-Life Role Model

Over the weekend I went to a retirement picnic for one of the best teachers I've ever had, Mrs. Robison.    She was my high school art teacher and good friend.  She has a heart of gold and will continue to believe in you even when you say "I can't" every day.  It's very rare when you meet a teacher that loves what they do and truly cares about what they are teaching you.

I went to one of those high schools that took all of their money and threw it into the athletics department, whether they needed it or not.  Mrs. Rob drove herself crazy trying to have an art exhibit for the students every year with what little funding was left.  But it never failed; the show went up successfully, year after year.  She did everything she could do to show us that we were "real" artists and she showed us all of the hard work that went into it.  While a HUGE part of me is thrilled that she is getting out of that place, another part of me feels sorry for both the new students that will probably never get the amazing experiences that she gave us, but also for my old high school, because a teacher like her is irreplaceable.

Congratulations Mrs. Rob!!!  I am so happy for you!  Love you!
